DEEP ROY Actor, Star Wars and Star Trek
DEEP ROY is one of the little people who play bigger-than-life characters both on the big screen and television. He has a great deal of love in his heart. He’s often said, “The most important thing is never to forget to always have love in your heart.”
Deep has appeared in the films The Neverending Story, Flash Gordon, The Dark Crystal, Planet of the Apes (2001), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and more. His television credits include Dr. Who and The X-Files.
His roles in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi have endeared him to millions of movie-goers throughout the world. Deep is best known in the Star Wars universe for playing Yoda in the Empire Strikes Back and also performing as Droopy McCool from Jabba’s band, an Ewok, and R2-D2.
Deep has appeared in all three of the new Star Trek movies alongside Simon Pegg playing the role of the alien engineer Keenser. Deep is among a handful of actors to have appeared in both the Star Wars and Star Trek franchises.
Deep is also known for playing all 165 of the Oompa Loompas along side Johnny Depp in the Tim Burton hit movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
COMIC BOOK CONNECTION: Both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi were adapted into comic books along with Dr. Who, The Dark Crystal, and The X-Files. His Star Trek character, Keenser, appears in 34 issues of IDW Publishing’s Star Trek comic book including an issue with a solo Keenser story.
